Winter Pride Maspalomas closes the European Pride calendar every year, and the 2026 edition runs from 2 to 8 November in the south of Gran Canaria under the tagline Be Proud in Paradise. More than forty thousand visitors come for a full week of shows, pool parties and open-air nights while the rest of Europe is putting the heating on. That contrast is the whole point: at this time of year the south of the island still averages around 23 degrees.
Everything revolves around the Yumbo Centre in Playa del Inglés, a shopping centre that turns into Europe’s best-known gay nightlife hub after dark, with more than thirty bars and clubs spread over its terraces. During the festival the main stage hosts free shows every evening, which is a real distinction: the core of the programme costs nothing to attend. The 2026 bill already includes Divina de Campo on 4 November and Baccara on 8 November.
The week opens on Monday 2 November with the Opening Pool Party at AxelBeach Maspalomas, from noon to 9pm, restricted to over-eighteens. The flagship pool event of the week is Tropicana at the Ocean Club, billed as the ultimate Winter Pride experience, with the Vengaboys and DJ Aron announced for this edition. Tickets range from a standard entry from around thirty euros to sunlounger packs and VIP formulas with reserved Balinese beds, suites with jacuzzi or a private pool, drinks included. The Pride Walk is the political and emotional high point of the week, gathering tens of thousands of people who walk from the Hotel Abora Catarina by Lopesan down to the Yumbo Centre behind the floats. Taking part is free, and float tickets with an open bar are sold for those who prefer to ride. A free sign-making session is organised at the main stage beforehand, which is a nice detail for anyone arriving alone. The exact 2026 date is confirmed by the organisers closer to the event.
Winter Pride Maspalomas is not only a nightlife festival. The week includes a sports strand with a CrossFit session, a padel tournament and a bowling afternoon, all open to visitors rather than reserved for clubs.
The boat programme runs a men-only catamaran cruise with DJ and a gay boat cruise on the Afrikat catamaran with drinks and lunch included. Excursions take visitors to the Bodega Los Lirios vineyard for wine and tapas, out for sunset kayaking along the coast, or up to the historic Vegueta district of Las Palmas. Talent competition Pride Stars, with a thousand euro prize, is decided on the main stage.
The idea was born in 2014 and the first edition lit up Playa del Inglés and the Yumbo Centre that November. It has grown by double digits nearly every year since and has become a fixture of the international calendar, run by the same team behind the Maspalomas Pride held in May. In practice, Gran Canaria now has two Prides a year, one in spring and one in autumn, which says a lot about how central the island has become to gay travel in Europe.
Gran Canaria airport is roughly thirty minutes from Maspalomas by road, with buses and taxis running throughout the day. Accommodation splits between the bungalow complexes around the Yumbo, ideal for walking home at 4am, and the beachfront hotels of Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. Book early: November is high season on the island, and the Pride week itself sells out first. Most venues are outdoors, and evenings can turn cool once the sun is down, so bring a layer.
