Parthenon is a gay club in Torremolinos, on the Plaza de la Nogalera, the pedestrian square at the heart of the town’s LGBTQ+ nightlife. Open since 1995, it is one of the longest-running clubs on the Costa del Sol and describes itself as a place of freedom, diversity and parties without labels.
Its promise is simple: the doors open every night of the year at midnight, and the party carries on until the early morning. Guides describe a club on two levels, with the bar and dance floor upstairs and a darkroom downstairs, and a soundtrack that mixes Spanish and international hits, with drag performances on some nights. According to the management, the door charge of €10 includes one drink or two beers, and the room usually fills up from around 2 a.m.
Parthenon is where many evenings on the Nogalera end, once the bars around the square start to close. Its Instagram account announces themed nights and summer parties, and is worth checking before a weekend in town.
