The Late Birds Lisbon is a gay hotel in Lisbon that calls itself a gay urban resort. It occupies a restored 18th-century building on Travessa André Valente, a quiet lane on the edge of Bairro Alto, in the Santa Catarina area and a short walk from Príncipe Real. It was created for gay men who want to feel at home far from home, and has been welcoming guests since the mid-2010s.
Rooms come with a buffet breakfast, high-speed internet, an iMac, climate control and daily housekeeping, and some open onto a terrace or a balcony over the garden and the rooftops. At the back, the Oasis brings together a pool, a sunbathing garden and drinks, while the piano bar hosts cocktails and occasional events for guests and local friends.
The team also publishes Bird’s Eye, its own selection of the city’s gay bars, clubs, saunas, restaurants and shops, handy for planning nights out. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out at noon. Rooms can be booked online through the hotel’s website.
