Trombeta Bath is a gay sauna in Lisbon, tucked into Rua do Trombeta in the heart of Bairro Alto, close to Príncipe Real and Chiado. Open since 2010, it is a men-only venue that combines a classic wellness area with spaces for meeting other men.
Facilities include a steam room, a dry sauna, a jacuzzi, showers, a locker room, a cinema room and a lounge bar where DJs play at weekends. There are also private cabins and a darkroom maze. Massages are available without booking, in 15, 30 or 60 minute sessions. Entry comes with two towels, flip-flops and a locker, condoms and lube are free, and a ticket is valid for 12 hours.
The sauna opens every day at noon and closes at 6:00, and runs non-stop at weekends until Monday morning. At the published rates, a standard entry costs 22 euros, with a reduced 18 euro ticket for under 36s on Mondays and for early birds and late birds on weekdays. Packs of five or ten entries are also sold. Weekend prices apply on Portuguese public holidays.
