Maspalomas Fetish Pride takes over Playa del Ingles from 1 to 12 October 2026, and the fourteenth edition has long outgrown the single word that used to describe it. Twelve days, dozens of parties, three elections and an entire shopping centre handed over to leather, rubber, puppy play, sportswear and uniform. Here is what actually happens, what to pack, and how to walk in without feeling like you took a wrong turn.
Maspalomas Fetish Pride 2026: dates, place and who runs it
The fourteenth Maspalomas Fetish Pride runs from 1 to 12 October 2026 in Playa del Ingles, on the south coast of Gran Canaria. It is organised by Igon Canarias together with the bars, clubs and resorts around the Yumbo Centrum, which tells you something important: the event is not held in one hall. It spreads across the venues that make up the district, from pool terraces in the afternoon to club basements at four in the morning.
The Yumbo itself explains why the event took root here. The complex covers more than 20,000 m2 and houses over 200 gay businesses, a family shopping centre by day that becomes something else entirely after dark. Few places in Europe can hand a fetish event that much dedicated ground without asking anyone to be discreet about it.
From Fetish Week to Fetish Pride
The event was born in 2013 as Fetish Week, and the name stuck so well that most people still type it into Google. In 2022 the organisers renamed it Fetish Pride, and the change was not cosmetic. The programme had grown past a single week and past leather alone: puppy players, sportswear crowds, skins and punks all had their own nights by then. Calling the whole thing a Pride said what the old name did not, which is that showing up as you are is the entire point.
Fourteen editions in, Maspalomas Fetish Pride sits alongside Folsom Europe in Berlin and Darklands in Antwerp among the biggest fetish gatherings on the continent. What separates it from the others is simple: they are city events in cold months, this one comes with a beach.
Twelve days, and a rhythm of its own
Days belong to the water. The Maspalomas Fetish Pride programme puts a pool afternoon on almost every one of the twelve days, spread across Basement Studios, Tropical La Zona and the Axel Beach hotel, with themes that sort the crowd rather than filter it: a Welcome Pool Party on 1 October, then sportswear, then the Darklands Wet and Wild on the 7th, the Puppy and Handler afternoon on the 9th, the Big Pool Party on the 10th and a Porn Star Pool Party to finish. Two boat parties take the same idea offshore, and one excursion swaps gear for wine in the mountains.
Nights move to the Yumbo and its surroundings. Club Kiki, Noxon, The Factory, Time OFF, Toms Bar and WunderBar each run themed evenings across the twelve days: Harness Night, Rubber V Leather, the Skins and Punks Nighter, the Puppy Pub Crawl, the socials hosted by visiting clubs from Wales, Spain and Germany. Between the two, the programme makes room for things nobody puts on a poster: bondage courses for beginners and for the more experienced, a fisting workshop, quiet sauna afternoons. The run closes with the Fetish Pride Closing Party on 11 October and a last social on the 12th.
Budget sorts itself into three tiers, and the first one surprises people. The socials, the bondage workshops, the club nights at Noxon and all three elections are free to attend. Pool parties run from 15 to 32 euros. The real spending is on the excursions: 65 euros for the Puppy and Handler boat, 75 for the JustFor.Fans boat, 90 for the fetish and wine day up in the mountains. That spread is a good part of why Maspalomas Fetish Pride keeps growing: you can do a serious week of it on very little, or you can go all in.
The elections, and what they are actually for
Three titles are handed out during Maspalomas Fetish Pride, and the official programme is precise about them. The Mr Fetish Europe 2026 election opens the run on Sunday 4 October at Club Kiki, from 8pm. Both Gran Canaria titles then fall on the same day, Friday 9 October: the Puppy Gran Canaria election at 5pm at Basement Studios, followed by the Mr Fetish Gran Canaria competition at 8pm at Club Kiki. All three are free to attend, which makes 9 October the day to protect in your diary.
These are not beauty contests, whatever the harnesses suggest. A title holder spends the following year as a visible spokesperson: showing up at other events, answering the questions newcomers are too shy to ask, and taking the public heat when a tabloid decides that men in rubber are a scandal. The puppy election in particular has become the moment the youngest part of the scene gets its turn on stage.
Every tribe gets its night
Leather, rubber, puppy, sportswear, skins and punks, uniform: at Maspalomas Fetish Pride each community has dedicated events, rather than one shared night where the loudest group wins. It is worth knowing the codes before you arrive, because they are still doing quiet work in the corridors of the Yumbo. Colours, keys, side of the body: the hanky code has faded from daily use but it is far from dead at an event like this one, and its modern descendants are worn on harnesses and in profile bios.

Going to Maspalomas Fetish Pride for the first time
What to wear
Nobody is turned away from the streets of the Yumbo in shorts and a t-shirt, and plenty of people spend their first evening at Maspalomas Fetish Pride watching before they join in. Individual parties are stricter, and each one publishes its own code. The safe starting kit is a harness, a jock, boots and one item that says which tribe you lean towards. Most venues run a gear check, so you can arrive dressed for the walk and change once you are inside. Buying half your outfit on the spot is a local tradition rather than a failure of planning.
The rules that matter
Consent is not decoration here, it is the operating system. Ask before you touch anyone, and that includes pulling a tail, taking a leash or putting a hand on somebody’s latex. Ask before you photograph, always, and accept a no without negotiating: a large share of the crowd is not out at work. Stay sober enough to give and to read consent, which is the whole point of the safe, sane and consensual rule the scene runs on. Follow that and you will find the fetish crowd far more welcoming than its photographs suggest.
October is the quiet argument for going
Gran Canaria in October averages 26 C by day and 18 C at night, with a sea at 23 C, seven hours of sunshine and around two rainy days for 16 mm of rain across the month. That is the practical reason Maspalomas Fetish Pride works where a northern European equivalent has to fight the weather: you can spend the afternoon at a pool party and still need nothing more than a jacket at three in the morning.
Book early. Twelve days of Maspalomas Fetish Pride in a resort with a fixed number of beds near the Yumbo means the walkable accommodation goes first, and walkable matters when you are dressed for a harness night.
Three prides, one island
Do not confuse the three. Maspalomas Fetish Pride is the October event. Maspalomas Pride by Freedom runs from 4 to 10 May 2026, celebrating its 25th anniversary, with the float parade on Saturday 9 May. Winter Pride Maspalomas follows on 2 to 8 November 2026. Three distinct crowds, three atmospheres, and a single island that has quietly organised itself to welcome all of them.
